Christmas Past... 1.. Selfridges Shop Window 2006/7

The first big store who ever bought from us was Selfridges; it was truly thrilling.  Especially when in the September/October that year we discovered we would be in one of the main shop windows right by the main entrance on Oxford Street.

It was just so exciting for us and we thought our big 'break'.  Most suppliers have to pay for the window but we were just so lucky and privileged to have been picked for free.
The window was really charming and showed off our collar and leads in the most glamorous way imaginable.

However we were just so confused and disappointed that orders did not flood in from Selfridges but as our first foray into wholesale we did not like to push.  We went in and looked and were a tad disappointed that the pet department seemed lost in the basement and it was hard to even find an assistant to serve us.  Let alone one who was trained up on sizes and dog breeds etc.  So we put it down to that...

Imagine our sadness when on Christmas Eve after 3 months of silence we got the call asking where their order from October was?
'We never got it.' We wept...
'Well it was faxed to you'...
'UGH we do not have a fax.' We wailed...
Too late the season was passed, the sales were lost - our romance with Selfridges died and not long after we were so lucky to have the chance to choose to go over to Harrods instead.  But that shop window was a joy and a high spot in Holly&Lil History that I will never forget.

PS they featured the Safari collection in the window that can be found in our Town & Country Dept'
